Hip-hop’s Fantastic Four has come together on a new M.I.A.-sampled track, as T.I., Jay-Z, Kanye West and Lil Wayne all have a verse on “SLU (Swagger Like Us.)”Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme will reportedly produce the next Arctic Monkeys album. The band is expected to hook up with Homme in Joshua Tree, California next month.
- A statue of Bob Marley was unveiled in the village of Banatski Sokolac, Serbia. “Bob Marley promoted peace and tolerance in his music,” said organizer Mirko Miljus, who Marley’s ideals will inspire people in the war-torn nation.
- It’s been a bad month to be a Barenaked Lady, as the band’s Ed Robertson was involved in a float-plane crash outside Bancroft, Ontario. Robertson, who was piloting the craft, survived along with his three pasengers.
